Flowers

As you may remember, I’m finally in school! which normally wouldn’t be such a thing to celebrate much about, but the reason I’m excited is that I’m finally doing and actual something to put myself in the direction of fashion.

I’m really excited and looking forward to this new experience. There’s really amazing people in my group and I think it will be really interesting to meet all of them.

In the meantime, I show you this outfit. I apologize in advance, since I’m not much of a fan of taking outfit pictures in my bedroom, specially since there’s no good light in it {and I have to do a bunch of tricks to get something decent} and second because I feel completely ridiculous posing with timer and tripod next to my window where everyone can see how silly I look ^^

In any case, I was thrilled to use my skull clutch and finally wear my floral blazer, I hope to get the chance to wear the skirt and trousers soon…

Have a nice rest of the week!

Día de Muertos

I cannot explain to you how blessed and happy I feel everyday to be living in Paris with the love of my life… though obviously there are the times in which I get extremely homesick, usually triggered by something specific.

Well today I am a lot! As I’ve mentioned to you before I’m a proud 100% mexican who is in love with her culture and traditions, and more specially in love with a certain date that mixes the religious with the spiritual and the mourning with the celebration, all sprinkled with an explotion of colors and decorations.

That is the Day of the Dead, a date that I remember loving since I was a kid {not to be confused with halloween which I liked too of course, but for completely different reasons. Hint: the trick or treating}

And ever since I realized I love photography, I also realized that this was the perfect day to snap the beautiful representations of what this date means to the people who celebrate it.

So my dad and I started this thing in which every year on the 2 of November we’d leave early and go riding by bike around the city in search of the most beautiful altars and demonstrations of the day of the dead, just so I could snap them.

So right now I really wish I could be with daddy going around the city on our bikes doing this. I promise next year we’ll do it :)

In the meantime I leave you with some of my favorite photographs from the last 2 years, I really hope you like them!

The bracelets made chez Yle+Flo :)
Lately I’ve gotten into making some bracelets to fill my arms since making them turns out to be waaay cheaper; I still buy some made bracelets though.
I have the amazing luck that Flo being in informatics has a steady hand so he helps me with all the chain etc bracelets/necklaces that I’m not skilled enough to do myself (I just make those that require putting beads in an elastic, or friendship braided bracelets).
And what’s even cooler is that he’s letting me show him some fantasy jewelry I like and find on the internet {or see on people around Paris}, for him to help me make them {or an inspired version of them} with the chance of adapting it to my own taste & requirements.
How amazing is that? :D
